Dniprodzerzhinsk State Technical University (DSTU), Ukraine

Dniprodzerzhinsk State Technical University is one of the prominent technical educational establishments in Ukraine known for its rich historical background, scientific heritage and outstanding people who gained their education within the walls of this university. Nowadays it prepare specialists for different spheres of modern economy offering twenty eight specialities guided by the reforms of the Bologna process. At present, about 5000 students study at the full-time and part-time programmes provided by the university. Research groups consisting of experienced scientists and PhD students focus their efforts upon the investigation of current fundamental and applied problems in the spheres determined by the needs of modern industry, economy, business and education. Researchers from the DSTU raise funds to realize their investigations through winning the tenders. Also they participate in competitions organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports among higher institutions, or by obtaining financial support from other institutions from abroad. The evidence to that is a number of national and international rewards received by the university and its representatives, patents for inventions, numerous publications in national scientific editions and abroad, participation in conferences, edition of monographs and textbooks implemented into the learning process of the university and other educational establishments of Ukraine and abroad.

Oleksandr Sadovoy, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Vice Rector on Science and Research of DSTU, Chief of the Electrical Mechanics Department. Member of the Presidium of the Vice Rectors Council of the higher educational establishments of Ukraine. Expert of the State Accreditation Commission on licensing, accreditation and attestation of specialities and higher educational establishments in Ukraine. Member of editorial boards of 4 scientific journals issued in Ukraine. Coordinator and Concept Elaborator for the experimental implementation of distance learning in departments “Electromechanics” and “Welding” in DSTU. Co-author of the State Programme ICT in Education and Science. Head of the Organizational Committees of all conferences and scientific events held in DSTU. Elaboration of platforms and content for distance teaching. Assessment and validation of teaching practices and scientific research. Author of 3 textbooks, 2 monographs, 43 inventions and more than 2000 articles.

Oleksandr Korobochka, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Rector of DSTU, Chief of the Department of the Automobile Manufacture, Head of the Delegate Commission of the City Council on Science and Education in Dniprodzerzhinsk. Member of the editorial boards of 2 scientific journals in Ukraine. Chief Deputy of the State Accreditation Commission on licensing, accreditation and attestation of specialties and higher educational establishments in Ukraine. 1998–2008 Vice Rector on Educational and Methodological Issues. 1996–1998 Dean of the Mechanical Faculty. Experimental implementation of distance learning in departments “Electromechanics” and “Welding”. Introduction of courses designed to enhance teachers’ competence in ICT; elaboration of the educational e-portal; implementation of the programme E-Dean’s Office; turning the university library into the electronic mode. Author of 7 textbooks, 1 reference book, 3 monographs, 23 inventions and more than 2000 articles.

Maryna Romaniukha Associate Professor at the Department of Translation.

Her scientific interests are: ICT-instruments for linguistic research, cognitive linguistics, ICTs in language teaching, aspects of social media in language learning, personal learning electronic environment, current trends in blended learning. She has over 40 publications, the most recent of them deal with different aspects of e-learning in higher education.

Liudmila Sorokina Scientific Secretary of the University, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology,

Her scientific interests are: ICT-instruments for sociological research, current social processes in public life, intercultural and social aspects of communication in the student and academic e-environment. She has around 30 publications, 5 teaching aids, 3 monographs.

Liudmila is the member of Sociological Association of Ukraine, takes active part in preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
